Kimberly Salas transferred to Rose City at the beginning of her sophomore year, facing the dual challenges of being credit deficient and seeking a new start. Undeterred, she tackled her academic goals with unwavering resolve, even amid personal upheaval, including being displaced by the Eaton fire.
Despite the odds, Salas completed all graduation requirements ahead of schedule and graduated with a 3.24 GPA. Her academic success was the result of a focused and accelerated effort: she took on additional coursework, utilized school resources, and consistently pushed herself to exceed expectations.
Beyond the classroom, Salas was an active and influential member of the school community. She served on the Student Leadership Board (SLB) and participated in the school’s coed sports program, balancing her academics with extracurricular involvement that highlighted her leadership and teamwork skills.
“She exemplifies the spirit of what it means to rise above adversity,” said Rose City counselor Randyl Barrozo “Kimberly didn’t just catch up, she led.”
Salas has been accepted to every college she applied to, including California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where she plans to pursue a career in the medical field.
Kimberly Salas stands out not only as the top of her class but as a powerful example of resilience, reminding her peers that setbacks don’t define your path, your determination does.

Super proud of you Kimberly!!!!
Congratulations!! 🎉
