Unfortunately, cancellation of the Kathy Kallick Band concert this Saturday is necessary because COVID has hit the band this week. Ticket refunds will be available, though details are still being sorted.
The Kathy Kallick Band, who play some of the world’s best bluegrass music, will perform in Pasadena on August 3.

This band combines the distinctive voice, guitar, and songwriting skills of Grammy-winner Kathy Kallick with four other outstanding musicians: Annie Staninec on fiddle, Greg Booth on dobro and banjo, Tom Bekeny on mandolin, and Cary Black on acoustic bass. They all sing with clear voices and piercing harmonies.
The concert will begin at 7:30 pm at Knox Presbyterian Church. The event is presented by the Pasadena Folk Music Society. Tickets are available from the Caltech Ticket Office (626-395-4652) for $25, with $10 tickets available for Caltech students and anyone age 16 or younger.

About the Band
Since co-founding the Good Ol’ Persons in 1975, Kallick and her bands have released 21 albums featuring more than 150 of her original compositions and arrangements. Bluegrass Unlimited magazine said, “she’s one of the greatest bluegrass vocalists of her generation or any other.” She won a Grammy and two International Bluegrass Music Awards for True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe. The Kathy Kallick Band’s latest album, The Lonesome Chronicles, combines themed originals and classics to mine a deep bluegrass vein.
