Many of us await the winter solstice as the welcome end of shortening days and the beginning of returning light.

This year, Friends of Sunshine offer a free sunset walk to the highest point of the Preserve.

Mark the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and the start of winter with a view of sunset over the Santa Monica Mountains. Reflect on your personal journey over the last year through quiet meditation, looking forward to renewal as the season changes. (Bring a flashlight for the walk back down.)
