In celebration of National Public Lands Day, the WPRA, City of Pasadena and the One Arroyo Foundation invite community members to take part in a hands-on volunteer cleanup in the Arroyo Seco.
By Katlyn Ong
This event is open to all ages. Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants will meet in the casting pond parking lot at 415 S. Arroyo Blvd. Attendees should bring water and wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, a hat, and sunscreen.
As climate and urban pressures continue to impact our open spaces, this event offers an opportunity to actively help protect and restore one of Pasadena’s most iconic natural landscapes: the Arroyo Seco.
Volunteers will help increase fire safety, enhance trails, and support local habitat health by clearing brush and weeds, removing invasive plant species, and collecting litter and debris along the Arroyo Seco’s trail system and adjacent areas. Efforts will also help support native plant biodiversity and demonstrate the power of community stewardship in preserving our shared public lands.
