Toti O’Brien
Toy Tea Set
Has been broken, then pasted
The hidden hole, sharp with angles, looks irregular:
(as a wild flower, an ungrown star, still burning,
ignoring the round rule
of consistency).
Why is the most precious,
(the main piece, the heaviest)
held by a tiny braid of reeds, loosely looped
into a pair of wedding rings?
Toti O’Brien says “My art is made of fragments patched together. Things broken, things fallen down to earth, things crushed. The hand that creates is the hand that mends. The hand that mends is the hand that heals.”

Chrissi Villa
just listening
to the plip plop of the pond
maybe this time
my heart will unwind
its bandages
Chrissi Villa seeks healing through poetry and photography. Outside of North Highlands, CA, where she lives, she loves to visit ducks and seagulls by the ocean.

Survivor (Fabric artwork by Cindy Rinne): “Here’s an art quilt I made because I found a ceramic shard that had survived after The “Old Fire” of 2003 in San Bernardino, California. I call the art, “Survivor.” in honor of overcoming and healing from a difficult time. Hundreds of homes were lost. We rebuilt on our original site.”
Karla Decker
Nebraska sandhills
covered with prairie grass
wind waves
far from the city
far from noise and hurry
Karla Decker says “I moved to Nebraska to spend one year. That was in 1963. I’m still here with no intentions to move. I started out in Omaha, and I live in Lincoln now, and have since the late 70’s….it is always a thrill to get out in the wilder places off the beaten track.”

Yvonne Palmer Stella
Spading leaf mulch
into garden soil
push love into earth
so cold in Spring
to heal us both
Yvonne Palmer Stella lives in Avon, Ohio. She says “I work with a senior population daily. My garden is the place in nature where I find my own healing.

Karla I love the visuals and can hear the soft rustle.
I love the Secret that Toti has painted.
Your piece is very moving, Cindy. The sepia color gives it a haunting feeling…
Thank you, Kathabela, for including my voice…
