On the steps of Pasadena High School, Congressmember Judy Chu gave the City of Pasadena, Pasadena Unified School District and Pasadena City College a giant check for $850,000 for a career and technical education (CTE) facility for alternative pathways of training and education in professional, technical and skilled trades.

Mayor Gordo spoke about this exciting partnership for vocational education in professional, technical, and skilled trades professions and vocations.
PUSD Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Blanco thanked everyone and introduced PUSD board members who are a part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Committee: Michelle Richardson Bailey, Jennifer Hall Lee, and Patrice MacKenzie who also spoke. PCC President Gomez thanked everyone and introduced PCC trustees Steve Gibson, Tammy Silver, Ryan Liu, and Alton Wang. Pasadena Fire Department was in attendance and Judy Chu spoke with the crowd.
