SAMO Fund, the official partner nonprofit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, is hosting a free narrowleaf milkweed giveaway at the Monterey Park Library on September 27 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Narrowleaf milkweed is a gorgeous native plant that serves as a host for monarch butterflies to lay their eggs. Monarch caterpillars feed exclusively on milkweed leaves. Help increase the monarch butterfly population by picking up and caring for your own milkweed plants.
Every registered participant will receive a 4 or 6 pack of Narrowleaf Milkweed (Asclepias fascicularis). Plants are only guaranteed to those who have registered. To register for free, click here.
