National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) Greater Pasadena Area chapter special presentation

The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) Greater Pasadena Area chapter is inviting community members to a special presentation and general meeting focused on celebrating Black history and advancing equity in the region.

The NWPC Greater Pasadena Area, which serves Pasadena, Glendale, Altadena, La Cañada, and Sierra Madre, aims to support and uplift women leaders while highlighting the contributions of Black leaders throughout the local community. The event will place particular emphasis on the history, challenges, and achievements of Black and underrepresented elected officials and leaders in Glendale.

Featured panelists include Tasha Jenkins, co-founder of Black in Glendale, and Ingrid Gunnell, president of the Glendale Unified School District Board. The two leaders are recognized for their advocacy efforts both within the broader community and in local schools.

Organizers say the event will spotlight the significant work of Black leaders in the area and provide an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the ongoing struggle for representation and equity in public service and education.

Community members are encouraged to attend the NWPC presentation and general meeting and to invite other women and advocates to join in unity and shared purpose.
