The lovely purple, vining plants known as wisteria (currently having a moment, thanks to Bridgerton) are the focus of Sierra Madre’s returning spring festivities on Saturday, March 28, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
One in particular has grown over an acre large, live 130+ years, and weigh 250 tons, and it lives in Sierra Madre. In fact, it not only rates a winning entry for World’s Largest in the Guiness Book of World Records, it has also spawned its own beautiful spring event, The Wistaria Festival.
A huge gathering of craft and food vendors, coupled with live music & family-friendly activities fill the free festival day. Access to the vine itself is managed via paid ticket shuttle access to protect it from damage.
Pre-purchase is strongly recommended and can be found via the festival link on the webpage: sierramadrechamber.com.
