As the Parklets Pilot project moves forward in the Playhouse District, several key milestones are envisioned over the next several months prior to a potential installation as early as autumn 2016.
The City of Pasadena’s Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC) will be reviewing the first key component of the project – the draft street layout and associated traffic analysis along the five-block stretch of Colorado Boulevard.
The street layout will include details of the proposed “road diet” including: modified travel lanes, angled parking, commercial loading and public transit zones, painted bulbout areas, and potential Parklet locations. The traffic analysis will lay out the impacts of the road diet on Colorado and nearby streets. TAC’s review is anticipated to provide comments and revisions for City staff.
This meeting is the first of several opportunities to follow the stages of the project, learn the latest designs and details, and provide input. Over the coming weeks and months, the road diet and additional components of the Parklets Pilot project will continue to go through public review, including the PDA Board of Directors, leading to a potential approval by City Council in mid-2016.
