The South Pasadena Library Restoration Concerts season launches the new year with a performance on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 4:00 pm by the AlmaNova Duo, joined by percussionist Till Richter.

The award-winning ensemble AlmaNova Duo is an innovative flute and guitar duo presenting an eclectic program of chamber music composed by Almer Imamovic.

Tickets will be available at the door for $25 or online at https://www.friendsofsopaslibrary.org/restoration-concerts for $26. The concert is presented by the Restoration Concerts Committee of the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library and will be held in the beautiful historic Library Community Room at 1115 El Centro St. in South Pasadena.

The Restoration Concerts Committee says this about their special guests:

Flutist Jessica Pierce and guitarist Almer Imamovic are both masters of their instruments, elevating the flute and guitar ensemble to the highest level of virtuosity and artistry. Their live performances are filled with energy and passion described as “…graceful, intuitively choreographed display of seamless connection.” They have had the privilege to perform extensively throughout the world including recitals in Paris, London, Sarajevo, and Stockholm. Almer was honored to perform for former President of the United States, Joe Biden and the Bosnia- Hercegovina Advisory Counsel in Washington D.C.

Their music has been featured in various film and TV projects and Almer’s song “Stani Draga” was chosen for the film In the Land of Blood and Honey, written and directed by Angelina Jolie. AlmaNova’s recordings have been described as “…pure musical pleasure” and have received much critical acclaim. Their first CD recording ‘Debut’ features original works by Mr. Imamovic, inspired by the sounds and folk melodies of his native Bosnia. Their second CD, ‘Classic Giuliani’ was awarded Critic’s Choice, by American Record Guide. http://www.almanovaduo.com/
