The Restoration Concert on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 4:00 pm will feature an ensemble of flute, harp, and a trio of strings.

Heather Clarke on flute, Marcia Dickstein on harp, Adam Barnett-Hart on violin, Connie Kupka-Speltz on viola, and David Spelt on cello will perform music by Mozart, Saint-Saens, Beethoven, Francaix, and Debussy. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 or online at this website. The concert will be held in the Library Community Room in South Pasadena.

Heather Clarke is one of Los Angeles’ most sought-after performers on the flute with a resume consisting of positions as Principal Flutist with many of the major orchestras in the Southern California area, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

A world-renowned harpist, Marcia Dickstein has been enticing new audiences to the harp both in chamber music and solo with orchestras. As founder and artistic director of The Debussy Trio, now in its 35th year, she has performed worldwide.

American violinist Adam Barnett-Hart has attracted worldwide attention for his sensitive musicianship and inspired artistic decisions. As founding first violinist of the Escher Quartet, he has performed in many of the most prestigious venues and festivals around the world.

Violist Connie Kupka’s lifelong passion for chamber music inspired her along with now-husband, cellist David Speltz, to form their own ensemble, the Arriaga Quartet. The Quartet went on to win Grand Prize at the prestigious Coleman Competition. She also enjoyed being a 30 year member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

David Speltz has performed at the Library of Congress, Lincoln Center, the Casals Festival in Puerto Rico, and recorded for the Nonesuch label. He was a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra under Sir Neville Mariner and principal cellist of the California Chamber Orchestra. He has been active in the motion picture industry, playing in studio orchestras for over 1,000 movies.

The Restoration Concerts Committee, a committee of the non-profit organization The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, has a goal to bring world-class music at an affordable price to the concertgoers in South Pasadena and surrounding communities. As the name suggests, net proceeds from the concerts provide for restorations, enhancements, and other benefits to the South Pasadena Library and Community Room.
