No plastic straws, no pollution (Photo - maxpixel.freegreatpicture.com).

No plastic straws, no pollution (Photo – maxpixel.freegreatpicture.com).

Did you know every day Americans use 500 million plastic straws, polluting our oceans and waterways and endangering marine life?

Have you seen the video of the sea turtle getting a straw removed from its nostril? This event is to help you be part of the solution.

An evening of fun, facts, and inspiration and to learn what can be done to stem the flow of plastic pollution in our community:

      • Watch a presentation from Heal the Bay on the story of Southern California’s water system and the causes of—and solutions to—marine pollution
      • Connect with other people and groups working to fight plastic pollution
      • Test drive alternatives to plastic straws
      • Take home tools to encourage restaurants to join the campaign
      • Get a chance to win prizes that help you go plastic-free

Want to get started right away?

Want to help but can’t attend the event? Take the pledge to refuse plastic straws.

      An easy simple step

When you go to a restaurant and order a drink just say, “No straw please.”

You can save a sea turtle every day!
