Learn about Descanso Gardens’ roses, how plants are bred, and the history of the roses of Descanso.

Descanso has played a pivotal role in the cultivation of some spectacular and beloved roses. There will be free activities for all ages, live music, floral displays, demonstrations, and discussions.

This event is free with admission or membership.

Saturday, June 21

• 9:00 am – 3:00 pm: Pop-up display explaining the history of rose cultivation, common rose characteristics and surprising relatives, some interesting facets of Descanso’s Rose Garden, and more!
• 9:30 am – 2:30 pm: Hands-on activities in the Rose Garden Pavilion and tent
• 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Live music with Philip Graulty playing the guitar in the gazebo
• 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm: (SOLD OUT) Nursery Tour with Frank Obregon, advance registration required

Sunday, June 22
