“Remembering and Understanding John Muir”is  a Sierra Club Panel discussion featuring Elizabeth Pomeroy, Tom Andrews, Mickey Long, and Glenn Pascall.

Elizabeth Pomeroy, author of “John Muir: A Naturalist in Southern California”, is a long-time member of the Sierra Club’s Pasadena Group, and Mickey Long is the long-time recently-retired Natural Areas Administrator of Eaton Canyon Nature Center.

John Muir died of pneumonia at a hospital in Los Angeles on December 24, 1914, where he was transported by rail from the home of his daughter Helen and her husband near Barstow. This event will offer the panelists’ perspectives on the accomplishments of our nation’s first conservation activist, and his significant impact on the nation’s environmental policy during the last 100 years.
