Everyone loves the experience of listening to a good tale conveyed by a master storyteller. Storytimes are not just for children; more and more often, they are scheduled for adults.
The Pasadena Senior Center will present a special story hour for members and nonmembers 50 and older on Thursday, Jan. 25. Storyteller Barbara Wong will provide a memorable afternoon of ancient and modern tales ranging from personal to supernatural in a way that will stay with participants long after the story hour is over.
Wong began sharing her love of stories as an artist in schools program for the Hawaii State Department of Education and the University of Hawaii cultural outreach program. She was a resident storyteller for the Honolulu Zoo, produced storytelling programs for adult audiences for the theater at the Honolulu Academy of Arts Museum, and developed and led walking and culinary tours of Honolulu’s Chinatown. She now shares her tales with audiences of all ages at libraries, schools, museums, and festivals throughout Southern California.
> Presented by the Pasadena Senior Center, this event is free for members and $5 for nonmembers 50 and older. To register or for more information, visit this website or call 626-795-4331.
