Bike Week Pasadena, 2016 (File Photo – David Gatzen)
Join Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition for their first bike ride of 2024.
The group will take a ride across Pasadena to donate food to Friends In Deed, then make two stops at local businesses for fried treats. The route is approximately 9 miles with 400 feet of elevation. The climbs will be relatively gentle. This is a family-friendly event, and kids are welcome on this ride, as long as they can ride a bike without training wheels and maintain a social pace around 10 mph.
Meet at the large parking lot on the south side of Victory Park. You must sign a waiver when you arrive.
This event is free for participants; PasCSC will buy the fried food. RSVP’s are required, as space is limited. All participants should bring a bike in good working order (e-bikes are welcome) and packaged shelf-stable food items to donate.
Food Item Requirements
Participants are encouraged to bring at least 3 food items to donate. Volunteers can help transport your donation. All donations must be in sealed packages. No donations past the “best by” date.
- “Gold” Items – The Most Needed Shelf-stable Items: Canned tuna & chicken, hearty soups, stew, chili, pasta & pasta sauce, peanut butter, cereal, rice, oil, sugar, flour, fruit juice, and vegetable juice (V8)
- Other Needed Food: Dry & canned beans, sliced bread, canned fruits & vegetables, coffee, jelly, shelf-stable or powdered milk
