The Pasadena community will kick off Earth Month this April with a Solar Homes Tour and Information Session designed to promote environmental awareness and local action on clean energy, with the PASADENA 100 Coalition leading the event’s launch.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:30 am, the event invites residents to explore neighborhood homes equipped with rooftop solar systems and battery storage. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with homeowners about their experiences installing and maintaining solar technology, offering firsthand insight into the benefits and challenges of transitioning to renewable energy.
The event aligns with Pasadena’s goal of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030. City efforts are focused on a three-pronged strategy, including expanding the use of rooftop solar and energy storage systems across the community.
In addition to the home tours, participants will learn about newly introduced local incentives and benefits aimed at making solar adoption more accessible. Organizers say the session is particularly valuable for residents considering clean energy options for their own homes.
District 7 Councilmember Jason Lyon is expected to attend and offer remarks, joining community members in discussions about sustainability and energy independence.
The event will take place at 621 South Sierra Bonita in Pasadena beginning at 10:30 am. It will immediately follow the District 7 Coffee gathering, allowing attendees to participate in both events conveniently.
Hosted by PASADENA 100 and supported by Polytechnic School’s Sustainability Club, the Solar Homes Tour aims to equip residents with the knowledge and resources needed to contribute to the city’s clean energy future.
