Celebrate National Potato Chip Day with a fascinating talk about local business icon, Laura Scudder, and a delectable session of potato chip tasting.

In the 1920s, Scudder defied convention by turning a simple potato chip into a million-dollar empire. The talk will be presented by Emmy-nominated TV writer/producer Ellen Sandler who wrote an article on Scudder for The Food Journal of the Culinary Historians of Southern California.

After the talk, there will be a blind tasting of different potato chips and participants will vote to decide on Monterey Park’s favorite.
