Dirt Compost (Photo – normanack).

A free compost giveaway event will be held at Garvey Ranch Park’s west entrance near 751 S. Alhambra Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91755.

• Drive up only, no walk-ins
• Containers should be 32 gallons in size or smaller
• Must be Monterey Park resident (ID or bill is required)
• Bring your shovels, dolly, containers, gloves, and eye protection (self-service event)
• Sturdy containers (no larger than 30 gallons each due to safety concerns)
• No plastic bags allowed
• 30 gallon limit during first hour (no limit from 10:00 am to Noon, while supplies last)
