      Pasadena Latino Heritage Parade (Photo – pasadenalatinoheritageparade.org).

      The Latino Heritage Parade and Festival is a celebration of accomplishments of individuals from all professions, and the impact their work has had on the Latino Community and society at large.

      The parade begins at the intersection of Los Robles Avenue and Prescott Street, heads south on Los Robles Avenue and culminates at Villa-Parke’s Multi-Purpose Field where the festival will be held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

      2019 Grand Marshal

      Grand Marshal – Laura Farber
      Laura Farber is the 2019-2020 President of the Tournament of Roses and is the first Latina elected to serve. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Farber’s native language is Spanish. She came to the U.S. with her family as a child. In addition to her many years of service in the Tournament of Roses, she has volunteered for many organizations, including the American Bar Association. Laura earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, with departmental highest honors, in 1987 from University of California, Los Angeles and her juris doctor, cum laude, in 1990 from Georgetown University. She is a renowned lawyer and a partner with the firm, Hahn & Hahn LLP.

      2019 Community Grand Marshal

      Community Grand Marshal – Dr. Cynthia Olivo
      Dr. Olivo is a longtime advocate for minority, low-income and first-generation college students. She currently serves as Pasadena City College’s Vice President of Student Services, serving a diverse student body of 30,000. Dr. Olivo is a third-generation Mexican American/Chicana and the granddaughter of migrant farm-workers. She was raised by a single mom and became the first in her family to go to college. Dr. Olivo earned her BA in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling from California State University, San Bernardino and a Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Urban Leadership from Claremont Graduate University.
