The South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC) presents Landlines, an exhibition of imagined worlds in a series of hand-drawn maps by fine artist Max Yust.

The exhibition opens to the public on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with a reception from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and runs through March 9.

Visitors to the gallery are invited to lose themselves in Yust’s fine-lined, beautifully detailed maps inspired by the fictional works of authors JRR Tolkien, Hayao Miyazaki, and Ursula K. LeGuin; the geography of real places, the artist’s Colombian and Swiss roots—and his desire to underscore that humanity is part of nature, not separate from it, in worlds of beauty, peace, and equality.

Gallery hours will vary after the Jan. 20 opening. To schedule visits on other dates during the run of the show, contact curator Blue Trimarchi at (626) 676-4195. Admission is free.
