Two folk-Americana duos – Joselyn & Don and The Odd Birds – will perform their thoughtful and passionate original songs in Pasadena on Saturday evening, September 20.
Montana natives Joselyn Wilkinson and Don Barrozo had each been creating music for years with strong, distinctive voices before they released their first two duo albums: “Soar” in 2020 and “Seeds and Bones” in 2022. Their songs signal close observation of nature and meld influences of blues, folk, rock, jazz, poetry, and percussion. Wilkinson’s supple voice shines through Barrozo’s tasty guitar work and harmony.
The Odd Birds are Ron Grigsby and Jennifer Moraca. Together they create music about connections, both lost and found. Tight harmonies, honed by more than 15 years of singing together, merge Grigsby’s rougher twang with Moraca’s sweet delivery. They will be performing songs from their first two albums, “Better Days” and “Tremolo Heart,” plus newer songs.
