Leap your way into the new year with a month-long celebration of Hong Kong action!
This January on Saturdays at 1:00 pm* dive into Hong Kong’s golden age of action cinema, where cops and criminals clash in tales of loyalty, honor, and revenge.
This program is intended for adults. All films are Rated R and are presented in Cantonese with English subtitles.
Each screening will feature an introduction by Asian Pacific Resource Center Librarian Katrina Lacerna, exploring the cultural impact and legacy of these influential films.
A Better Tomorrow (1986) – Saturday, January 3
Brothers on opposite sides of the law face loyalty and loss in the film that made John Woo and Chow Yun-Fat international legends.
City on Fire (1987) – Saturday, January 17
