Break bread with human books and have a courageous conversation with someone of a unique life experience.
The Human Library® is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people. At events, readers can borrow human beings serving as open books and have conversations they would not normally have access to. Every human book from this bookshelf represents a group in our society that is often subjected to prejudice, stigmatization, or discrimination because of their lifestyle, diagnosis, belief, disability, social status, ethnic origin, etc.
Share a meal with a human book and gain insight, challenge your mindset, and learn from a person you might not meet in your regular day. This free event is by registration only and includes a meal. Attendees must be able to sit and discuss for up to two hours. No young children allowed.
> Call the Sierra Madre Library to register at (626) 355-7186 or click here.
