Caltech Playreaders presents Gladys in Wonderland, written by Rosemary Fresno Toohey and directed by Douglas Smith.

Doors open at 6:15 pm and Director’s Talk begins at 6:30 pm before the performance. A donation of $8 is requested at the door ($5 for Caltech Women’s Club members). Parking in the Athenaeum parking lot.

Gladys in Wonderland: Eighty-seven-year-old Gladys is munching donuts, reading obituaries, and wisecracking about the humorous incongruities of life, when she receives a visit from Mort, a man in a white suit, claiming to be the Angel of Death. Gladys, who is rather enjoying her life, stubbornly resists being whisked off into the great unknown. So, Mort gives her a bit of time to reconsider and—invisible to all but Gladys—trades quips and wry commentary with her as she receives a parade of oblivious visitors, self-absorbed family members, and a parrot! What will the irrepressible Gladys decide?

      > Enjoy the 72nd Season of the Caltech Playreaders.
