      Caltech Jazz Guest Artist Concert (Photos – Caltech)

      The Caltech Jazz Band, directed by Barb Catlin, presents the Annual Jazz Guest Artist Concert featuring New York saxophonist Sarah Hanahan, Los Angeles saxophonist Chuck Manning, and guitarist Zachary Caplinger, with music by Jim McNeely, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 8:00 pm in Beckman Auditorium.

      Hanahan was named the top Rising Star in a recent Downbeat Critics Poll. Her debut album, Among Giants, garnered critical acclaim including being named a Downbeat Top Album of 2024. A long time friend of the Caltech Jazz Band, JPLer, and celebrated Los Angeles tenor saxophonist, Chuck Manning,will also be featured, as well as Los Angeles guitarist, Zach Caplinger, in a tribute to Jim McNeely, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter.
