Pasadena Heritage invites you and your holiday guests to take walking tours featuring some of Pasadena’s unique architectural treasures.

Attendees have the opportunity to participate in two different walking tours: Hillcrest Neighborhood Walking Tour and Historic Churches of Pasadena Walking Tour. Both tours are available at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Walking tours will take place rain or shine. Dogs are not permitted on Pasadena Heritage walking tours. The locations of each tour will be announced on the ticket website.

      Hillcrest Neighborhood Walking Tour

Discover one of Pasadena’s most beautiful neighborhoods with the Hillcrest Walking Tour, which takes you by many grand homes in a variety of architectural styles. The Oak Knoll subdivision, of which Hillcrest is part, was intended to rival the wealthy neighborhoods of Orange Grove and the “West Side” (San Rafael and Linda Vista), so many of the estate-size lots were intended for custom home development. Showcased on the tour are numerous mansions along with large Craftsman homes such as the Freeman House designed by architects Arthur and Alfred Heineman, and the Culbertson and Blacker Houses both designed by Charles and Henry Greene. This tour will last approximately 2 hours.

Historic Churches of Pasadena Walking Tour

Explore the Playhouse Village and tour some of the city’s most architecturally significant churches during the Churches of Pasadena Walking Tour. Visit a variety of historic churches, each with its own unique architectural style and rich history. Experienced docents will lead you on a guided walking tour, filled with a wealth of architectural details, holiday decorations, and the opportunity to make some internal stops to explore select interiors. This tour will last approximately 2.5 hours and the tour route is just over 2 miles in length.
