Saturday June 8th, 2023, promises to be a day of rejoicing in the bond of an all-inclusive neighborhood!

The walkabout will spotlight local artists of all genres of discipline. Altadena Town Council Member Nic Arnzen, founder of the Altadena LGBTQ+ Pride Walkabout, will lead the walkabout through central Altadena celebrating the LGTBQ+ community’s pride and unity.

The walk will start at The Altadena Library, wind through the center of Altadena with five events along the way, culminating at the Altadena Senior Center for the day’s final event.

The day begins at 10:00 am with an opening ceremony at the Altadena Main Library. Supervisor Kathryn Barger is scheduled once again to kick it all off. Then, from 10:30 to 11:30 the estimated crowd of 200+ will take their complimentary Pride flags and walk down Lake Avenue waving at traffic and posing for a group photo at the “Greetings from Altadena” mural, outside of Grocery Outlet. This will be followed by a Spiritual Exploration at Altadena Baptist Church with an address from Senator Anthony Portantino at 11:30 and a free Community Picnic in Triangle Park at 12:30.

The day wraps up at the Altadena Senior Center. The festival runs from 2:00 – 6:00 pm and will feature entertainment, an art gallery, a youth sanctuary, classic autos display, and a resource hall.

Attendees are welcome to come to the event or events of their choosing, and as always, everything is free.
