At its annual organizational meeting on December 6, 2021, the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education elected Elizabeth Pomeroy, Ph.D., as its president for 2022.

Michelle Richardson Bailey was elected vice president and Kimberly Kenne was elected clerk. After her election, Dr. Pomeroy said: “It is an honor to be elected President of the Board by my colleagues on the Board of Education. I look forward to a productive year, working together in the light of our District Vision: to inspire the joy of learning in every student.”
Dr. Elizabeth Pomeroy
Dr. Elizabeth Pomeroy was first elected to the Board of Education in 2009 and represents District 5. Pomeroy graduated from Stanford University and holds a Ph.D. in English from UCLA. She was an English professor at Pasadena City College and has also held teaching positions at UCLA, UC Irvine, and California State University Los Angeles. When her career first began, she taught middle school and high school students.
She has served on the staff of the Huntington Library and has also worked at the W.M. Keck Foundation in Los Angeles. Active in local organizations, Pomeroy has served on the boards of the Pasadena Historical Society, Pasadena Sister Cities Committee, and the Sierra Club. She has served the City of Pasadena as a member of both the Recreation and Parks Commission and the Library Commission. A published author, her most recent book is Glen Dawson: Mountaineer and Bookman. She established Many Moons Press in 2000, which publishes books on Southern California history and nature.
Michelle Richardson Bailey
Michelle Richardson Bailey was elected to the Pasadena Unified School Board in 2017 and represents District 3. With 20 years as a classified employee of the Pasadena Unified School District and the Oakland County Office of Education, Bailey brings important experience to the Board of Education.
Kimberly Kenne
Kimberly Kenne was first elected to the Pasadena Unified School Board in 2011 and represents District 1. Kenne has been actively involved as a parent leader at the school site, district, and state levels since her children started kindergarten.
Board officers serve one-year terms.
