      Earth Day is around the corner, and cities and organizations in the San Gabriel Valley are gearing up for events commemorating the occasion.

      April 20 – Saturday

      Our Voice, Our County: Earth Day Fair + Expo

      9am – 12pm: Our County Sustainability Plan Expo
      Armory Center for the Arts Community Room
      Our County is the first-ever LA Countywide Sustainability Plan that outlines a vision to balance environmental goals, equity, and economy. The plan addresses climate change, water, energy, land use, transportation, open space and land use, biodiversity, public health, workforce, housing, and resilience. Activities for children and translation services available.

      12pm – 3pm: Earth Day Festival
      Memorial Park (across the street)
      Learn about local efforts to be more water wise, reduce waste, support clean energy, travel green & more! Engage with community groups, organizations and eco-friendly businesses. Enjoy art, music, food trucks, and take action! Family and kid-friendly.

      April 22 – Monday

      The California Experience Goes Global

      Caltech – Ramo Auditorium
      4:30 pm
      : Refreshments. 5:00 to 6:00pm: With Terry Tamminen. Former CalEPA Secretary Terry Tamminen examines California sustainability policies that succeeded in the state (including “lessons learned” and setbacks), but which also became models around the globe for advancing environmental protection and “green” economic development. He will also present a roadmap for policies and projects that could simultaneously save endangered species (and their habitats), address climate change, and create the biggest wealth-generating opportunity of the 21st Century.

      April 27 – Saturday

      Earth Day Festival, Eco-Summit, and Bike Rides 2019

      The theme of this year’s Earth Day is “Energy Efficiency”. The Earth Day Festival and Eco-Summit will be a fun and fully environmentally-educative event with entertaining games for parents and children. All festivities are free and open to the public. ​​​​

      May 19 – Sunday

      Eco Fair 2019

      City of Alhambra
      Main Street between Garfield Avenue and 4th
      9:00am – 4:00pm: The Eco Fair will feature many family-friendly activities such as games, raffles, free giveaways, and live demonstrations and entertainment. Eco-friendly vendors on site showcasing a whole host of different environmentally friendly products.

      The Eco Fair will also coincide with the 626 Golden Streets event and weekly Farmers Market, so attendees will be able to pick up fresh produce and snacks during the fair. For more information about the Eco Fair, please contact 626-300-1543.
