A GoFundMe campaign has been launched in support of Rosalina Vargas, a Pasadena mother of two who was detained early Saturday morning by federal immigration agents. Vargas, known as a devoted caregiver and a beloved community member, was reportedly taken into custody in front of her children, even though agents initially claimed they were searching for someone else.

The online fundraiser, titled “Help Bring Rosalina Home”, aims to raise funds for Vargas’s legal defense and to help cover the basic needs of her children during her detention. Vargas’s children are students of the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD).
“This happened in front of her children,” the campaign description reads. “Rosalina is a deeply loved member of our community, a hardworking mother doing everything she can to build a better life for her kids.”
Supporters describe Vargas as a tireless caregiver to the elderly, known for her warmth, compassion, and generosity. At home, she was the kind of parent who welcomed friends with a smile and a home-cooked meal. Her sudden detention has left the community shaken.
The GoFundMe page expresses both heartbreak and outrage over the circumstances of her arrest. “We’re raising funds to support Rosalina’s legal defense, cover the basic needs of her children during this painful time, and help bring her home where she belongs.”
The campaign urges the public to contribute or share the fundraiser to raise awareness and help reunite Vargas with her family.
As of Sunday afternoon’s publication, the GoFundMe has raised $4,000. To donate, visit: gofundme.com/f/bring-rosalina-back-to-her-children.
