Colorado Boulevard Newspaper has received four prestigious nominations for the 67th Southern California Journalism Awards, the Los Angeles Press Club announced Tuesday.

The nominations recognize the Colorado Boulevard Newspaper’s work in editorial writing, local political reporting, and humor. Competing among a record-breaking 2,500 entries, Colorado Boulevard’s editorial board and reporters are finalists in the following categories:
- Editorial Writing:
For the editorial “When Healthcare Acquisitions Fail Patients: The Case of ChapCare and AltaMed.” - Local Political/Government Reporting:
– Sharon Hawley for “Spooky Tunnels Under the Caltech Campus”
– Melissa Michelson for “Campaign Contributions for Pasadena School Board.” - Humor/Satire Writing:
The editorial board for the satirical piece “Pasadena Mayor, Victor Gordo, Volunteers To Solve the Middle East Conflict.”
The winners will be announced during the SoCal Journalism Awards Gala, on Sunday, June 22, at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Colorado Boulevard Newspaper joins major outlets in being recognized this year. This year’s nominations reflect a growing acknowledgment of excellence across a wide range of journalistic voices in Southern California.
