      COMMUNITY CORNER

We love where we LIVE and we LOVE showcasing what the Greater Pasadena area has to offer.

We have created this corner, free of charge, to highlight local organizations, businesses, and groups, that we feel are an enhancement -and an asset- to our communities. We share their stories with our 30,000+ readers in the belief that a vibrant and a happy community is a direct result of enlightening events/experiences shared by many in the neighborhood.

We thrive to better our lives, one community at a time.

      > Today’s experience comes from the heart of Sierra Madre.

Citta Caffe is a newly established restaurant featuring fresh organic fruits and vegetables, delivered from California farms twice a week.

Citta Caffe serves organic coffees and teas. They bake fresh bagels, both gluten and gluten free. Fresh pressed juices are served and can be purchased in bottles to take home. Cucumber lemon water is artistically and conveniently placed to allow thirsty diners to serve themselves. A daily feature of Citta Caffee is fresh, organic produce pressed into juice and made into salads and sandwiches.

Unusual flavor combinations include ‘’Wellness Shots.’’ What is a wellness shot?

A wellness shot is a burst of vitamin goodness in a shot glass. The Baldwin is a local favorite, especially for those who might be feeling a bit under the weather. In making a wellness shot, fresh juice is pressed from lemon and ginger. This juice is mixed with oregano oil and served in a shot glass with a generous splash of cayenne pepper. Whoa Nelly! It is a bit easier to swallow it in two gulps than just one. Mixing The Baldwin with The Kersting (a kid’s shot,) which added fresh apple juice to the mix, tones down the citric acids a just tiny bit. It actually feels like a wellness shot. The body welcomes the blast of organic goodness.

      Creative flavors

Citta Caffe has been open in Sierra Madre since April, 2015. The owners live in the Sierra Madre Canyon, and they feel positive about the growth of their business. ‘’So far, so good.’’ People are attracted to the freshness and the flavor of the meals. Creative flavor combinations bring folks back for additional foodie exploration.

The simple and colorful décor includes herbs, succulents and fresh produce as table decoration. The decoration always changes, since much of it is used in the menu. Ruby, a recently hired employee, loves the fact that she can walk to work, her employers are good people, and the food is tasty and healthy. Now that’s a good flavor combination!
