      Block 9A series of fun, free activities, events, and opportunities aimed at bringing our families and community together.

      Block 9 is an exciting week of FREE + FUN + COMMUNITY BUILDING activities and events.

      Location
      Day One

      Mon, Aug. 3

      • (3-6pm) – Aqua

      Why go to the beach, when we can build one?! Come play in 15 tons of sand, a crazy water slide, a sudsy foam pit, and take in the beautiful beach side setting as you enjoy some healthy summer eats.
      – Bring: Clothes you can get wet in, and beach towel.

      • (6-9pm) – Hawaiian Luau

      What better way to end the summer but with a traditional Hawaiian Luau? Put on a flowered shirt, grab some friends and family and head over to Day One to celebrate summer Hawaii style. Enjoy Hula and Fire Dancers, a limbo contest, delicious Hawaiian BBQ, and the eclectic sounds of the island.
      – Bring: Comfortable clothes, and picnic blanket.

      Tues, Aug. 4

      • (10am-12pm) – ARTvocacy

      Unleash your passion, creativity, voice through this chaotic, hands-on, out of the box ARTvocacy class. We will explore the theme of Art as a tool for Advocacy. Pieces developed will be showcased at the October Pasadena Art Night event.
      – Bring: Your creativity.

      • (12pm-5pm) – Get Your Game On!

      Beach volleyball, soccer, football, tug of war, and ultimate Frisbee! BRING IT!
      – Bring: Your competitive edge, and towel.

      Wed, Aug. 5

      • (6pm-9pm) – Bollywood

      Day One invites you into the world of music, dance, dynamic rhythm and spirituality that characterizes incredible India with both the rich traditions and modern interpretations of India’s signature sound. Indulge in an evening of Bollywood Sounds and Dancers of India and an authentic taste of the richness and excitement of Indian music.
      – Bring: Your grooves.

      Thu, Aug. 6

      • (5pm-8pm) – Bike-In Movie & Repair

      Bike SGV will hook up your bike while you work on your tan, and enjoy some s’mores. Free bike tune ups provided by Performance Bicycle & Bike SGV.
      – Bring: Your bike.
      *Support the Bike Share program by donating that dusty bike sitting in your garage.

      Fri, Aug. 7

      • (7-10pm) – Pachanga Pasadena

      Muevete! You asked for it-you got it! A night of friends, family, food, and community. Come enjoy some delicious tacos, paletas, and elotes while you sink your feet in the sand and move to the sounds of Banda and Tamborazo!
      – Bring: Your dancing shoes

      Sat, Aug. 8

      • (5-10pm) – Push Play Pasadena Music Festival

      Local artists and musicians of all ages come together to create an eclectic evening filled with creativity, compassion, and community to close Block9’s series of events. Arts + Music + Slamming Slider Food Truck.
      – Bring: Blanket, towel, and sunscreen.
