Billy Malone has declared his candidacy for Pasadena Unified School Board of Education, District 1.

Malone is a PUSD parent and volunteer. In a letter to our newsroom, he announced the following:
As a father of a child who readily excels and is a dyslexic myself, knows firsthand the importance of learning choices and programs that benefit the entire student body.
Billy Malone summarized his platform by saying:
Through my many years serving on the Altadena Town Council, both as chair and member of the education committee, I have developed relationships and alliances with individuals, schools, and organizations throughout Altadena, Pasadena, Sierra Madre, and Los Angeles County that will be valuable to serving on the PUSD Board. This experience gives me the ability to hit the ground running once elected. I value this opportunity to join the PUSD School Board and represent the diverse families of this incomparable community. Let us make every child visible, so we may light their way to success.
The domain name maloneforPUSD.com was registered on March 19, 2022, six days prior to his announcement. PUSD District 1 is currently represented by Kimberly Kenne. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
