      Bike Week Pasadena is back with fun filled activities for all ages.

      The 11th annual Bike Week Pasadena will take place May 13th – May 18th, 2019. This week-long event is designed for most skill levels and age groups in order to promote bicycling as a safe and sustainable way to access your daily errands and favorite activities. Bike Week Pasadena is presented by C.I.C.L.E., and the City of Pasadena.

      What to Bring

      • Your bicycle, in good running order.
      • A lock.
      • Plenty of night lights.

      All participants should be able to ride a bike safely with the ability to brake, change gears, and balance while stopping and starting. Participants under 18 must wear a helmet and be escorted by a parent or guardian. Children under age 8 should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device to participate in the ride.

      – Monday, May 13th – Taste of Pasadena

      • It’s free but you must RSVP for this event!

      Come hungry for a decadent sampling of Pasadena’s tastiest dishes! This bicycle tour highlights delicious eateries, providing sweet and savory fuel for the journey to each spot.

      Location
      Memorial Park (on the corner of Holly and Raymond)
      Time
      Arrive at 6:00 pm, leave at 6:30pm – 9:00 pm
      Accessible: By the Metro Gold Line, Memorial Park Station

      – Tuesday, May 14 – Women’s Bike Night

      Enjoy a sunset ride through the beautiful streets of Pasadena while discovering the historical sites including a riding on the Colorado Street Bridge. The ride will end with a post-ride gathering at Kings Row Gastropub (with happy Hour pricing on food and drinks)!

      Although this ride aims to create a unique space for women-identified riders, it is open to everyone.

      – Wednesday, May 15th – Ride of Silence

      (Last minute addition)
      Honor cyclists that have been hit and killed on the road. Arrive from 6:15/6:30 to register, sign your waiver & get set up. If you have been hit by a car, identify yourself and wear red arm band. If you are honoring someone killed, give their name so they can be honored and wear a black arm band.

      There will be a few quick speakers, and some brief announcements. Police will escort for safety. Leave by 7:00 for a 45 minute ride, resting at the City Hall for a moment of silence, and arriving back at the Rose Bowl by 7:45.

      – Thursday, May 16th – Bike to Work Day Happy Hour

      Join CI.C.L.E. at Congregation Ale House for an after work Bike Happy Hour Party. Mingle with other bicyclists drink and treats are on C.I.C.L.E. as they say thank you for biking to and from work (or to the event).

      – Friday, May 17th – Bike-In Movie

      Lights of Pasadena city hall at Day One's ArtNightThis year, Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition (PCSC) and Day One teamed up to organize Bike-In Movie as part of Bike Week Pasadena. Enjoy a free movie under the stars with the screening of the international film Wadjda (about a young Saudi Arabian girl’s quest to own a green bicycle). Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at sundown.

      There will be healthy appetizers and refreshments, but you’re encouraged to pack a picnic as supplies are limited. (Bike parking and restrooms are available on-site).

      The Vignes Rooftop Revival will provide live music before showtime!

      – Saturday, May 18th – Pedal Party to the Rose Pedal

      The end of the week’s festivities is a ride to the Rose Bowl for the Rose Pedal. You may bring your pet if you like as the 5K loop around the Rose Bowl Stadium will be car free for folks to run, walk and bike freely. Hang out in Pasadena’s 5-star park, The Greens, while participating in fitness and health classes led by Orangetheory Fitness, Stadium Fitness and more!
