The Altadena Town Council will hold its final meeting of the year on Tuesday, December 16, at 7:00 pm in the Bruin Locker Room at the Rose Bowl, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive.

      By Rena Kurlander

Vice Chair Nic Arnzen reflected on the past year ahead of the meeting, noting, “This year has undoubtedly challenged and changed us all. On behalf of the Altadena Town Council, we are honored and grateful to have served our community during this incredibly difficult time and hope that 2026 finds us all seeking ways to stay connected and unified. We have too much work ahead of us to not be holding each other up and moving forward together.” Arnzen also invited the community to attend the meeting and holiday gathering.

      Agenda Highlights

The evening will begin with a Presentation of Colors by Altadena Scout Troop 4, followed by a Flag Salute led by Senior Patrol Leader August Heinsen. Recording Secretary Kim Yu will conduct the roll call, after which the Council will move to approve the meeting agenda.

ouncil officers, including Chair Victoria Knapp, Vice Chair Arnzen, Corresponding Secretary Connor Cipolla, Yu, and Treasurer Milissa Marona, will deliver their end-of-year reports.

      Public Safety Updates

Representatives from key local agencies will address the community, including:

      • Captain Ethan Marquez, Altadena Sheriff’s Station
      • Officer Keller, California Highway Patrol
      • Assistant Fire Chief Sprengel, LA County Fire

      Special Presentations

The Council will hear from Mark Leavens, President of the 2026 Tournament of Roses, along with Candy Carlson, Director of Communications. Dominick Correy, Director of Community Relations for the Rose Bowl, will also provide an update.

      Dignitaries and Council Transitions

State Senator Sasha Renée Pérez and Assemblymember John Harabedian are scheduled to deliver remarks.

Newly elected Councilmembers will be sworn in by LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, after which Chair Knapp will seat the newly formed Council. The Nominating Committee, led by Cipolla, will present an action item for the full Council: a vote on members of the incoming Executive Committee.

      Public Participation

A general public comment period will follow committee reports. Community members wishing to speak may submit a comment card before or during the meeting. Comments are limited to two minutes. While the Council does not respond during the meeting, members may follow up afterward if contact information is provided.

A recording of the proceedings will be available at AltadenaTownCouncil.org.
