Nearly 2,000 runners are expected to take to the streets of Altadena on Sunday, January 4, 2026, for the inaugural Altadena Forever Run, a 10K, 5K, and 1K family walk honoring survivors of the Altadena Eaton Fire.
By News Desk
Hosted by the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, the event begins at 8:00 am at Mariposa Junction, 849 E. Mariposa St.
This year’s run is part of the countywide LASAA Mug Run series, an annual partnership between LASAA and Sheriff’s stations across Los Angeles County. Each station brings its own character and traditions to the series; in 2026, Altadena Station is dedicating its Mug Run to commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Altadena Eaton Fire.
One year after the fire blackened the ridges above town, the Altadena Forever Run stands as a powerful symbol of resilience and recovery. The course takes participants directly through the fire’s burn scar, where survivor stories will be displayed at mile markers. Fire survivors will run alongside neighbors, supported by first responders, families, cheering stations, and special guests, including Supervisor Kathryn Barger.
The run welcomes everyone, runners, walkers, families, and supporters, and aims to demonstrate collective solidarity, remembrance, and hope. Participation honors those affected by the fire, those who responded, and those continuing the hard work of rebuilding.
Proceeds will support the Eaton Fire Relief Fund, helping fuel community-benefit initiatives tied to Eaton Fire survivor organizations, which direct support to local recovery and resilience efforts.
