In a poignant moment for the community, the Altadena Town Council is set to hold its first in-person meeting on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, at 7:00 pm at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive. This marks the Council’s return to face-to-face governance following the devastating Eaton Fire, which forced a temporary shift to virtual meetings and disrupted public operations across the area.

The upcoming meeting will open with a flag salute led by Scouting America Troop 1, symbolizing resilience and civic spirit. Chair Victoria Knapp and Vice Chair Nic Arnzen will lead the session, which includes a full slate of officer, public safety, and community reports. Highlights include updates from the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, the California Highway Patrol, and L.A. County Fire, with Community Services Liaison Maria Grycan expected to speak on post-fire recovery efforts.
Community organizations such as the Rotary, the Altadena Library District, and the Parks Department will also provide updates. Of particular note is a presentation by the Community Coalition for Altadena Recovery (CCAR), chaired by Knapp, and the Altadena Eaton Fire Recovery Fund Advisory Committee, co-chaired by Treasurer Milissa Marona, underscoring the Council’s ongoing focus on recovery.
A special presentation on sidewalk vending by the Department of Economic Opportunity is also on the agenda, reflecting renewed economic planning efforts in the wake of the fire.
