Altadena residents who are interested in running for the Altadena Town Council must submit their applications no later than 5 p.m. on October 13, 2023. All rules and regulations can be found on the Altadena Town Council website: AltadenaTownCouncil.org.
If you live in Altadena, please consider this opportunity to run for your town council. The Altadena Town Council has been in existence since 1975 and, in the first election, over 1,500 ballots were cast!
The Council meets on the third Tuesday of every month and serves as an advisory body to L. A. County departments for the unincorporated town of Altadena. There are eight census tracts represented by two council members. Each census tract has one seat up for election this year. Each Council member serves a two-year term.
Veronica Jones, Chair of the Election Committee, said, “Altadena is rapidly changing. To make sure you have a voice in that change, we must have a strong Town Council that represents the voice of the residents. If you’ve ever thought about running for office, now is the time!”
The deadline for applying is October 13, 2023. All applicants must live in the census tract they are running for. All election materials for applicants are on the Altadena Town Council website.
The election dates are November 4 (early voting) and November 7, 2023 (regular voting). The Election Committee consists of Town Council members and Community members from Altadena.
