Allen Shay officially announced his candidacy for Mayor of Pasadena on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Allen Shay, a commissioner on the Northwest Commission, is a business owner, experienced in law, policy and real estate. He graduated from PUSD schools and from USC with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
In a statement to our newsroom, he said:
Pasadena is a vibrant and diverse city with boundless potential, and I am committed to harnessing that potential to create a better future for all.”
Shay’s platform focuses on priorities or initiatives specific to Pasadena, including “to end homelessness, to work hand in hand with police and firefighters, to create affordable housing, and to develop sustainable business growth.”
“As Mayor, I will prioritize listening to the voices of all Pasadena residents and working together to find innovative solutions to our shared challenges,” he added.
Shay is challenging current Pasadena Mayor, Victor Gordo, who announced his re-election campaign in May of last year.
The domain name allenshayformayor.com was registered on December 21, 2023. The primary election will take place March 5, 2024.
