There will be a series of public input meetings held by the City of Alhambra to find out what the public would like to happen on Main Street, east of Garfield, starting at Chapel.
By Melissa Michelson
One consideration is to create an “old town” similar to Pasadena’s Old Town (Old Pasadena) on Colorado Boulevard.
Alhambra’s old town would run adjacent to Alhambra’s historic downtown that has been the city’s center since the 1890s. While many of the current buildings in downtown Alhambra are covered, there are still striking examples of art deco and Victorian commercial that if you look carefully are nestled amongst the one- and two- story buildings.
Alhambra East Main St Workshop
Two identical workshops will be held on the same day to accommodate different schedules and the maximum number of participants.
Both meetings will be recorded and available to view at a later date. You need to register for one time slot only:
The public is encouraged to attend one of these virtual meetings.

Hi. Thanks for sharing. You can read about the Old Town Alhambra proposal in this UT Community News story.
Main Street is too small to be another old town. From Atlantic to Granada only a few places can capture tourists attention. Most of the stores’ customers are local residents.
Main street is really only 2 3 blocks of where people walk around
That would be really nice if it would be like old town Pasadena.
For crying out loud! Why are they still hell bent on causing more traffic congestion on Main Street? We don’t need an “Old Town Alhambra”.
