Arroyo & Foothills Conservancy announced the acquisition of Sycamore Canyon, 10 acres in the San Rafael hills through the heart of Glendale.

The acquisition of Sycamore canyon ensures that the wildlife currently residing in those ten acres will continue to have a place to call home. It guarantees safe passage for our migrating wildlife. In time, after invasive species have been removed and habitat restoration is completed, it will become home to a larger, more diverse, wildlife population.
Arroyo & Foothills Conservancy (AFC) works at preserving land and restoring habitat in and around the San Gabriel and Crescenta valleys, protecting natural areas for birds and wildlife, and providing access and educational experiences for the community. It is amazing that a staff of seven is able to navigate and accomplish so much. They rely heavily on an army of volunteers to help clear trails, remove invasive species, and plant essential native habitat.
If you are looking to get into nature and get your hands dirty, AFC has numerous volunteer opportunities for everyone.
