If getting back to Nature and adding some volunteer hours are both part of your New Year’s To Do List, Rosemont Preserve in La Crescenta-Montrose has the perfect combination available with their Field Trip Docent Program.

      By Melanie Hooks

Docents receive free onsite training in three vital areas, then provide that same information to the K-12 school groups who visit throughout the year.

Three trainings are offered over three days, all 9:00 – 11:30 am: Avifauna Training (bird species) on Wednesday, January 28; Geology on Thursday, January 29; and Native Plants on Friday, January 30. Sign up for one, two, or all three.

Volunteers will be asked to lead at least four tours during a full school year season.

Register online at the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy.
