      Individuals of every gender, shape, age, and persuasion will test their mettle to win the coveted crown at the Pasadena Doo Dah Parade Queen Tryouts on Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2024 at the infamous after-party headquarters of the Old Towne Pub.

      On hand for the wild ride will be queen-hopefuls, former Queens, Everlasting King Clayton, Doo Dah Preservation Society’s Magistrate Vince, Czar Tom, Duke of Doo Dah, and Freddie Mercury the emcee, also veteran parade entrants, tryout supporters, and those too curious to stay away.

      This year the royal court is expanding! Doo-Dah tryouts will include two new positions to its court: The Royal Night, and the Royal Light. Contestants for the Queen as well as the yin and yang Nights, will have 5 minutes to perform and sway the judges (meaning all those in attendance) that they should don the crown and family nomenclature at this year’s 45th Pasadena Doo Dah Parade, which takes place in Old Pasadena on Sunday, November 24th.

      Past years have seen the crowning of many colorful, talented, and eccentric royals:

      • 1978 Queen of the Stardust Ballroom” Dorothy Romani.
      • Quing Robbie Ravenwood,
      • Natalie “Mama Sunshine” Flores,
      • “Sassy but Classy” Jennipha,
      • Patrizzi Intergalactica,
      • Red Rosie, Naughty Mickie,
      • Tippi Headtrip and the Lost Language,
      • Tequila Mockingbird,
      • MeowMeowz,
      • Susann of “Good Vibes,
      • House Parties & Jabberwocky Jerk Sauce.
