A Noise Within has reopened with live shows. Proof of vaccination is required for entrance, and you must wear a mask during your entire visit.

There was no food or drink available so there was no period of time where you needed to remove the mask. The theater also specifies that “socially distanced” seating is available. A final announcement was made before the show started stating that if anyone was uncomfortable where they were seated, they could be reseated or receive a refund. More information is available on the website regarding changes and updating they’ve done.
The first offering, which closes on October 3, is “An Iliad,” a modern take on “The Iliad,” with some current twists and references. It’s a one-actor show, occasionally accompanied by a cellist. Two actors, Geoff Elliott and Deborah Strang, alternate on different dates in the role of The Poet. Karen Hall is the cellist. I saw the version of the play with Deborah Strang. An incredible one hour and forty-minute storytelling that kept us enthralled all the way through to the dynamic ending and resulted in a standing ovation. I’ve included the synopsis from the website below.
From the theater website: “The lone witness of an ancient and ravaged Trojan battlefield weaves a tale of tragedy and triumph, with an enduring love for every victim of war. The Poet, an eternal being tasked with a passionate examination of deadly conflict, grapples with grief and dualities of victory and loss, power and fragility, heroism and hubris in an unforgettable modern take on Homer’s classic.”
