The U.S. National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a Wind Advisory in effect from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on January 8 as strong northerly winds develop across the region.

The winds are expected to transition into a Santa Ana wind event beginning Friday and continuing into at least Saturday, with additional High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories already issued.
Forecasters warn of a high risk for downed trees and power outages due to softened soils from recent soaking rains. Residents are urged to use caution as gusty conditions increase.
Travelers are advised to take extra care if planning to pass through the Grapevine from tonight through Thursday, January 8. Light snow is forecast for the Tejon Pass, which may lead to travel delays, slick and snow-covered roads, and periods of poor visibility.
For Thursday, conditions are expected to be sunny with a high near 60 degrees. North-northwest winds around 15 mph are forecast, with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. Thursday night will be mostly clear with a low around 39 degrees and northeast winds near 10 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph.
