1- Get ready to return to your happy place – because Kidspace Children’s Museum is officially open!

The reopening festivities feature the museum’s 25th Annual Butterfly Season, an all-outdoor experience filled with color, creativity, and fanciful caterpillars hidden for visitors to find. Children can fly by butterflies on the trikes course, add their own artistic flair to a 2,500 square foot chalk mural, and make butterfly seed balls to take home and plant to attract local pollinators. Tickets at kidspacemuseum.org/tickets.

2- Pacific Opera Project (POP) just announced Don Procopio.

The west coast premiere of Georges Bizet’s rarely performed comedic opera Don Procopio is performed live outdoors at the Heritage Square Museum in Los Angeles. Three, socially-distanced performances – Friday, June 4, 2021 at 8:00 pm. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 8:00 pm Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 8:0 0pm– will be sung in Italian with projected English supertitles and a small orchestra conducted by Charlie Kim. Pacific Opera Project’s production, designed and directed by Artistic Director Josh Shaw, is set in 1913 in Highland Park, playing to the venue’s historic aesthetic. Other local touches include references to the area’s history of ostrich farms, based on the nearby Cawston Ostrich Farm, and nods to the early movie industry. Picnic and enjoy a bottle of wine with your pod, safely distanced from others. Info & tickets: pacificoperaproject.com/donprocopio.
