The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is inviting the community to celebrate the start of a new soccer season at the Villa Parke Youth Soccer League (VPYSL) Inauguration Ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.

The ceremony, which serves as the official kickoff to the VPYSL season, will take place on the Villa Parke turf field at the corner of Parke Street and Garfield Avenue, adjacent to the Villa Parke Community Center, located at 363 E. Villa St.
Approximately 70 teams of youth athletes, ranging in age from 2 to 18, will be introduced during a parade alongside their coaches and City of Pasadena officials. Following the parade, attendees can enjoy a community celebration featuring arts and crafts, photo opportunities, and additional family-friendly activities.
The Pasadena City College Athletics Department will also host a free youth soccer clinic for participants ages 8 and older after the parade. The clinic will be led by head coach Francisco Cantero, joined by members of the college’s men’s soccer coaching staff and team players.
Founded in 1989, the Villa Parke Youth Soccer League has grown into the largest and most popular sports league offered by the department. Each season, the league serves more than 1,000 young athletes, providing an inclusive and vibrant environment focused on youth development through sports.
